Esther Palmer is a home educator, presenter, and homeschooling advocate. She taught her three daughters for fourteen years, expanding her educational awareness from full time public school to full time home school. Her children’s developmental needs guided the blend of education most appropriate year by year. Following her youngest daughter April’s high school graduation, Esther embarked on a journey of personal reflection, bringing what she had intuitively created to consciousness. The choice to contemplate, ponder, and synthesize her homeschool experience provided the time necessary to deeply understand and recognize the gift of respectful education she gave each of her children. The culmination of this self-reflection is captured in her book Every Heart Homeschool-Joy in Learning. This book is both memoir and pointer toward universal truths of education and life-learning. Esther’s choice to actively listen to her children and meet their needs led her to discover that personal growth and self-knowing are the anchors that transform parent-educator choices and best intentions into congruent lived experiences.
